About the role

  • Overseeing timely and accurate completion of billing, financial close entries, and reporting
  • Partnering closely with Finance Leader(s) and local Operation Leader(s) to identify financial trends and explain budget variances
  • Preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for various balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Preparing monthly invoices supported by audit-ready schedules
  • Identifying aged receivables and following up with funders
  • Analyzing financial data and providing insightful explanations for variances to budget
  • Functioning as the primary liaison with APM Group external auditors
  • Collaborating with operational leaders to identify spend/profitability risks and opportunities
  • Mentoring and providing guidance to junior accounting staff
  • Implementing Internal Control activities, Accounting Policies, and best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with exposure to public accounting.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP Business by Design, Concur, Adaptive) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, If Statements, Sumifs, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate financial information.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
