About the role
- Provide critical financial and leadership services in the areas of financial strategy, financial planning, annual budgeting, receipt and disbursement of funds, accounting, procurement, and asset management.
- Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Lead and manage the month-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
- Prepare monthly analysis on key financial statement accounts (revenue, expense, and balance sheet accounts).
- Support detailed analysis of cost centers to allow operational leaders to understand and control their respective cost bases.
- Review and if necessary, prepare complex corporate journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for various balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions.
- Prepare the operating budget and forecasts with assistance from US SS FP&A team.
- Recommend benchmarks for measuring financial and operating performance.
- Oversee daily operations and functions of the finance department including the timely billing and collections of service revenues.
- Assist in the creation of RFPs for new projects during bidding season.
- Lead all aspects of controllable expenses reporting including identifying key trends, summarizing themes for leadership teams, and providing ideas to save money and improve controllership.
- Facilitate the completion of financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
- Assist USA Shared Services Finance Team, including the USA CFO, with projects as applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation strongly preferred
- Minimum of 9 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with exposure to public accounting
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Exposure to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is preferred but not necessary
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP Business by Design, Concur, Adaptive) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, Index/Match, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas)
- Demonstrated ability to manage larger team, and coach individual contributors on best-in-class procedures
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex financial information
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
