About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage cases from intake through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, correspondence, discovery, and other legal documents
- Prepare and e-file court documents
- Conduct legal and factual research
- Coordinate discovery and trial preparation
- Track deadlines, hearings, and case calendars
- Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
- Keep cases moving by anticipating attorney needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of recent paralegal experience in a U.S. law firm
- Experience supporting at least two practice areas (Litigation, Criminal, Estate Planning, Probate, Family Law, Immigration, Bankruptcy, Corporate, Employment, Personal Injury, or similar)
- Bachelor's degree
- Strong legal writing, drafting, and proofreading skills
- Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple matters independently in a remote environment
- Availability for at least 20 hours per week
- Technical Skills Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Adobe Acrobat
- Electronic court filing (state and/or federal)
- Legal research experience
- Experience using legal case management software
- Reliable high-speed internet and a professional home office
- Windows-based computer preferred
