About the role
- Develop collaborative relationships with insurance companies/payors to verify benefits and eligibility.
- Enter and update patient demographics, guarantor, and insurance information in company systems.
- Respond to inquiries from insurance companies and internal team members.
- Work collaboratively with the RCM, finance, accounting departments, admissions, and utilization management departments.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and business information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3+ years of healthcare experience with billing, insurance verification, or utilization management required.
- Knowledge and experience with EMR and billing software programs required.
- Familiarity with HIPAA privacy requirements for patient information. Ability to maintain and protect confidential information.
- Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently follow processes and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational awareness, adaptability, and conflict management skills.
