About the role

  • Creates various/experienced Cage-Cabinet design options that respond to customer requirements, Equinix Requirements and physical site constraints within a diverse scope.
  • Prepares notional Cage-Cabinet layouts, area calculations and diagrams for each individual data center and specializes in more complex, larger sites.
  • Maximizes space utilization to develop the best design solution for the Data Center and the customer.
  • Utilizes experienced knowledge of electrical/mechanical infrastructure to notionally attribute complex Cage-Cabinet designs against Data Center infrastructure within a diverse scope.
  • Participates in high-density review cases, seeking opinions of SME's or local sites where required.
  • Produces drawings and space plans for use by Sales, Site Operation and other teams.

Requirements

  • Typically has 5+ years in data center capacity planning electrical system design, operations, maintenance.
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD/BIM tools).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience; preference given to candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
