Corrosion Engineering Technician, Associate/Sr.
EQT CorporationCorrosion Engineering Technician supporting integrity management and corrosion control programs at EQT Corporation. Responsibilities include maintaining processes, troubleshooting, and collaborating with various teams.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain processes and procedures for internal corrosion and external corrosion control programs.
- Oversee Close-Interval-Survey and DCVG/ACVG program along with analyzing results and developing corrective actions.
- Implement internal corrosion monitoring programs and develop corrective actions to mitigate corrosion threats.
- Support field technicians with advanced troubleshooting of rectifiers, bonds, areas of inadequate CP, or DC and AC interference issues.
- Work with the Integrity Management department to assist with implementation of Integrity Management Program through field analysis of pipeline anomalies and developing risk mitigation measure for time dependent threats.
- Prepare for and participate in DOT 192 and DOT 195 state and federal audits.
- Collaborate with Engineering team to assist with Cathodic Protection designs.
- Collaborate with integrity management, operations, and engineering teams to prioritize mitigation and long-term asset protection strategies.
- Develop and maintain metrics to assess program effectiveness and identify areas of higher risk.
- Maintain corrosion records, test station data, and regulatory documentation for audits and inspections.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of corrosion control related experience.
- Valid Driver's License and able to operate a company vehicle.
- AMPP Cathodic Protection Technician (CP2) or Internal Corrosion for Pipeline 2.
- Successful completion of applicable Operator Qualification training.
- Working knowledge of computer software packages and equipment.
- Working knowledge of mathematics and electricity.
- Working knowledge of CFR 49 Part 192 and/or Part 195.
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
- At times, this role requires both planned and unplanned travel to field and other EQT locations. There may be instances when travel is necessary outside of the core working hours.
