About the role

  • Manage the long-term integrity of all HV and LV electrical systems on site, ensuring safety, reliability, technical and legal compliance.
  • Provide specialist support, guidance and technical advice to the Engineering and Maintenance teams on site.
  • Long term planning and through-life management (including obsolescence) of site electrical infrastructure and systems.
  • Determine maintenance and inspection requirements of electrical systems.
  • Identify, specify and manage electrical biased contracts including contractor management.
  • Input into rolling 5 year business plan spend on electrical systems, and manage in-year spend and phasing.
  • Plan and lead electrical inspection works during scheduled outages to maintain integrity, reliability and compliance.
  • Report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance teams.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience of HV and LV electrical systems, including transmission and distribution.
  • Knowledge and experience of HV and LV protection.
  • Knowledge and experience of DSEAR management.
  • Ability to build and influence relationships through excellent interpersonal skills and a strong positive attitude.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes, cope with pressurised situations, flexible approach to changes in priority and adhering to deadlines.
  • Excellent numeracy, literacy and problem-solving skills.
  • High motivation, self-direction and self-awareness.
  • Ability to integrate and actively participate within in a positive safety culture.
  • Willingness to further develop skills within the C&I discipline as necessary.
  • Degree in an Electrical Engineering discipline and/or HND/HNC in an Electrical Engineering discipline with extensive industrial experience.
  • Membership of a professional institution, or working towards membership and chartership.
