About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, inspect and repair customers’ Class 8 commercial tractors and trailers, including bodies, systems, and components
  • Write detailed work orders for mobile road calls and/or in-yard work
  • Provide quality customer service and respond promptly to client queries
  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Inspect, service, and replace tractor and trailer parts, including tires, hubs, and axles
  • Check and repair brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Test systems and equipment for performance issues
  • Ensure trailers meet U.S. Department of Transportation road safety requirements
  • Compile inspection reports and document repairs
  • Report findings to management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience repairing Commercial Tractor and Trailers
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record & no suspensions
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • Comfortable working with Computers for billing and work orders
  • Follows verbal and written work orders to stay on track with daily repairs
  • Confident explaining a diagnosis over the phone and helping the customer decide next steps on repairs
  • Experience with welding
  • Your own tools
