About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Troubleshoot, diagnose, inspect and repair customers’ Class 8 commercial tractors and trailers, including bodies, systems, and components
Write detailed work orders for mobile road calls and/or in-yard work
Provide quality customer service and respond promptly to client queries
Perform preventative maintenance
Inspect, service, and replace tractor and trailer parts, including tires, hubs, and axles
Check and repair brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Test systems and equipment for performance issues
Ensure trailers meet U.S. Department of Transportation road safety requirements
Compile inspection reports and document repairs
Report findings to management

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience repairing Commercial Tractor and Trailers
Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record & no suspensions
Ability to lift 50+ pounds
Comfortable working with Computers for billing and work orders
Follows verbal and written work orders to stay on track with daily repairs
Confident explaining a diagnosis over the phone and helping the customer decide next steps on repairs
Experience with welding
