About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Troubleshoot, diagnose, inspect, and repair Class 8 commercial tractors and trailers, including bodies, systems, and components
Write detailed work orders
Perform mobile road calls and/or in-yard repairs
Provide prompt, quality customer service and respond to client queries
Perform preventative maintenance
Inspect, service, and replace tractor and trailer parts, including tires, hubs, and axles
Check and repair brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Test systems and equipment for performance issues
Ensure trailers meet U.S. Department of Transportation road-safety requirements
Compile inspection reports and document repairs
Report findings to management

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience repairing commercial tractors and trailers
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and no suspensions
Ability to lift 50+ pounds
Comfortable working with computers for billing and work orders
Ability to follow verbal and written work orders
Ability to explain diagnoses over the phone and help customers decide next steps on repairs
Experience with welding preferred as a differentiator
Own tools preferred as a differentiator
