About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair customers’ commercial tractors and trailers
Write detailed work orders for mobile road calls and in-yard work
Provide quality customer service
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair semi-truck and trailer bodies, systems, and components
Perform preventative maintenance on fleet semi-trucks and trailers
Maintain hubs and axles and adjust or replace them when required
Inspect, service, and replace tractor and trailer parts, including tires
Check and repair brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Test systems and equipment for performance issues
Ensure trailers meet U.S. Department of Transportation road safety requirements
Compile inspection reports, document repairs, and report findings to management
Respond to client queries as soon as possible

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of verified commercial tractor and trailer repair experience
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Ability to lift 100+ pounds
Basic computer skills to submit repairs for billing
Ability to follow oral and written instructions to complete daily tasks
Basic reading and writing skills to complete customer repair orders
Experience with welding is helpful; certification is a plus
High school diploma or equivalent is a plus
Technical school degree is a plus
Own tools
