About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair customers’ commercial tractors and trailers
  • Write detailed work orders for mobile road calls and/or in-yard work
  • Provide quality customer service
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair semi-truck and trailer bodies, systems, and components
  • Perform preventative maintenance on fleet semi-trucks and trailers
  • Maintain hubs and axles and adjust or replace them when required
  • Inspect, service, and replace tractor and trailer parts, including tires
  • Check and repair brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Test systems and equipment for performance issues
  • Ensure trailers meet U.S. Department of Transportation road safety requirements
  • Compile inspection reports, document repairs, and report findings to management
  • Respond to client queries as soon as possible

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of verified commercial tractor and trailer repair experience
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift 100+ pounds
  • Basic computer skills to submit repairs for billing
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Basic reading and writing skills to complete customer repair orders
  • Welding experience and certification are a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent is a plus
  • Technical school degree is a plus
  • Own tools
