About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver direct crisis intervention and stabilization services within the community
- Conduct assessments and collaborate with individuals and the treatment team to develop and implement individualized service plans (ISPs)
- Utilize de-escalation techniques and provide basic mental health education to support individual stabilization
- Accurately document all service notes and submit documentation within 24 hours of service delivery
- Ensure all documentation, including required signatures, is uploaded in a timely manner and maintain 100% chart compliance
- Assist with care coordination through referrals and discharge planning
- Connect individuals with appropriate internal and external behavioral health resources
- Maintain compliance with Virginia DBHDS standards and organizational policies
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, training, and quality improvement activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active registration with the Virginia Board of Counseling
- DBHDS Statewide Crisis Training Certification
- Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field required
- Licensed in Virginia as LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Clinical Psychologist
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience working with individuals experiencing mental health, substance use, or co-occurring disorders
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills
- Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
- Successful completion of background check, Central Registry clearance, and TB screening
