About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Strategically develop the acquiring portfolio, with a focus on credit card acquiring, girocard, and alternative payment methods such as Alipay and WeChat Pay
Develop and launch e-commerce acquiring solutions
Expand the existing portfolio
Manage pricing and margin models
Analyze business performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability
Serve as the central point of contact for key accounts
Coordinate collaboration with internal and external partners
Provide professional coaching to the acquiring team
Manage strategic projects
Continuously improve processes and standards
Collaborate with internal departments, international stakeholders, and strategic partners
Play a key role in shaping the future direction of the acquiring division

Requirements

What you’ll need

Successfully completed degree in business, finance, business informatics, or a comparable qualification
At least eight years of professional experience in the payments sector
Ideally, experience in credit card acquiring, e-commerce payments, or with a payment service provider
In-depth knowledge of credit card acquiring, interaction with card schemes, girocard, and e-commerce payment solutions
Experience building acquiring portfolios, working with new payment schemes, or developing innovative solutions is a plus
High level of self-motivation
Strong analytical skills
Entrepreneurial mindset
Collaborative leadership style
Fluent German and English, with strong negotiation skills
Familiarity with modern AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot
