Business Development & Growth Manager
EonEnergyBusiness Development & Growth Manager driving growth by securing new business opportunities in the energy sector across various markets. Collaborating with clients and partners to tailor solutions for energy needs.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and manage a pipeline of opportunities across consumer, SME, and/or commercial segments.
- Deliver against sales and revenue targets in line with company growth strategy.
- Lead prospecting, proposal development, and contract negotiation to close deals.
- Support the launch and scaling of solution products (tariffs, smart charging, vehicle-to-grid, bundled services, heat, solar & storage and financing).
- Build strategic partnerships with technology providers, installers, community groups, and trade associations to expand reach.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Negotiate commercial agreements to expand distribution channels and enhance customer value.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their energy needs and tailoring solutions accordingly.
- Drive customer satisfaction, retention, and upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
- Engage with SMEs and OEMs to deliver tailored solutions and energy management solutions.
- Provide feedback from customers to shape product design and proposition development.
- Work with Propositions, Commercial, Marketing, and Operations to develop tailored customer propositions (e.g. tariffs, renewable solutions, energy services).
- Support the creation of sales collateral, proposals, and pitch decks.
- Monitor trends in the energy market, including regulatory changes, consumer behaviour, and competitive activity.
- Share insights internally to shape strategy and proposition design.
- Work with Propositions, Commercial, Marketing, and Operations to ensure customer propositions are compelling and deliverable.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience in business development, sales, or partnerships (energy, utilities, telecoms, or related sectors).
- Strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales/commercial targets.
- Strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
- Commercial and financial acumen - ability to structure and evaluate business deals.
- Knowledge of solutions, EV charging or energy retail propositions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in the energy sector (retail, renewables, EV, energy efficiency, or flexibility services) is a plus.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, net zero policies, and sustainability trends is a plus.
- Experience working with CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot) and pipeline reporting is a plus.
