About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as fractional On-Site Energy Manager for one or more of Environ’s clients
Conduct ASHRAE Level I & II energy audits, including data collection, site inspections, and energy analysis
Identify energy conservation measures (ECMs) and quantify potential savings
Develop detailed energy assessment reports with actionable recommendations
Assist in the development of turnkey energy efficiency projects, from feasibility analysis to implementation
Perform technical and financial analysis of ECMs, including ROI and payback calculations
Support the preparation of project proposals, including scope of work, cost estimates, and savings projections
Serve as a technical expert in energy efficiency and engineering consulting engagements
Communicate findings, recommendations, and implementation strategies to clients
Provide ongoing support and advisory services to help clients achieve their annual energy efficiency goals
Ensure compliance with industry standards, including ASHRAE, local building energy codes, and utility incentive programs
Stay up to date on energy efficiency regulations, emerging technologies, and best practices
Conduct on-site assessments at client facilities, including mechanical system inspections and data logging
Travel is required to support client engagements, site visits, and project implementation

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field is required
A Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is strongly preferred
Preference to candidates with a Professional Engineering (PE) License or ability to obtain one
5+ years of experience conducting energy/decarbonization audits, energy modeling, or energy efficiency project development
Experience serving as energy manager for commercial facilities, with preference for candidates with hospital and healthcare experience
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, building automation controls, and energy management strategies
Experience with turnkey project development, including vendor coordination and contractor management
Familiarity with utility incentive programs and regulatory compliance requirements
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Ability to travel as needed for client engagements and site visits
