About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as fractional On-Site Energy Manager for one or more of Environ’s clients
  • Conduct ASHRAE Level I & II energy audits, including data collection, site inspections, and energy analysis
  • Identify energy conservation measures (ECMs) and quantify potential savings
  • Develop detailed energy assessment reports with actionable recommendations
  • Assist in the development of turnkey energy efficiency projects, from feasibility analysis to implementation
  • Perform technical and financial analysis of ECMs, including ROI and payback calculations
  • Support the preparation of project proposals, including scope of work, cost estimates, and savings projections
  • Serve as a technical expert in energy efficiency and engineering consulting engagements
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and implementation strategies to clients
  • Provide ongoing support and advisory services to help clients achieve their annual energy efficiency goals
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, including ASHRAE, local building energy codes, and utility incentive programs
  • Stay up to date on energy efficiency regulations, emerging technologies, and best practices
  • Conduct on-site assessments at client facilities, including mechanical system inspections and data logging
  • Travel is required to support client engagements, site visits, and project implementation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field is required
  • A Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is strongly preferred
  • Preference to candidates with a Professional Engineering (PE) License or ability to obtain one
  • 5+ years of experience conducting energy/decarbonization audits, energy modeling, or energy efficiency project development
  • Experience serving as energy manager for commercial facilities, with preference for candidates with hospital and healthcare experience
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, building automation controls, and energy management strategies
  • Experience with turnkey project development, including vendor coordination and contractor management
  • Familiarity with utility incentive programs and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Ability to travel as needed for client engagements and site visits
