About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to utility customers, translating complex electrical engineering concepts into customer-focused solutions.
- Identify customer challenges, assess existing processes and technology landscapes, and develop solution recommendations that drive measurable business value.
- Partner with sales and business development teams to prospect new customers, expand existing relationships, and support revenue growth objectives.
- Conduct technical discovery sessions, workshops, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements with utility stakeholders.
- Build compelling business cases and ROI analyses to help customers evaluate technology investments and support decision-making.
- Develop and deliver executive-level presentations, technical proposals, and solution recommendations.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer success teams to ensure customer needs and market feedback are reflected in product development and go-to-market strategies.
- Support contract discussions, scope definition, and technical evaluations throughout the sales process.
- Represent envelio at industry conferences, webinars, and customer events to strengthen market presence and industry relationships.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5-7+ years of experience in technical sales, field application engineering, consulting, electrical construction, utility engineering, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
- Experience with utility planning and engineering software such as CYME, Synergi, GIS platforms, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of distributed energy resources (DERs), interconnection processes, hosting capacity analysis, or grid modernization initiatives.
- Experience working with SaaS solutions or software implementation projects.
- Strong understanding of electric utility operations, power systems, and electrical distribution networks. Familiarity with utility regulatory environments and planning processes a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and navigate customer organizations.
- Experience working with CRM systems and sales enablement tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a consultative mindset.
