About the role

  • The Director will advise EOs Senior Leadership Team and VP, People and Culture on communications to EOs professional staff and the Global Board of Directors, keeping both groups informed of plans, changes, and EO operations.
  • Lead efforts to facilitate information flow and culture building at the institutional level; develop leadership communications, announcements, and materials.
  • Build alignment and execute on ideas to strengthen staff peer-to-peer communication, knowledge sharing, and community building using internal platforms.
  • Develop communication materials for all-staff events or recruitment efforts (templates, agendas, slides, or talking points); meet with senior leaders to review and prepare as needed.
  • Advise and support EOs Senior Leadership Team, including CEO, COO, Chief Membership Officer, CMO, SVP Products, and SVP Technology in developing communications plans and messaging materials that will proactively inform and engage EOs professional staff and Global Board, especially during transitions and annual planning.
  • Maintain high level of professionalism from C-suite experience; handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Serve as a power user for internal communications and project management platforms (Teams, Assembly, Monday.com) and other tools.
  • Measure the effectiveness of internal communications by collecting feedback, monitoring analytics, and generating reports.
  • Continuously encourage EO staff to leverage EOs internal communications tools to share news and contribute to culture building.
  • Provide thought leadership in culture and communication-related People & Culture activities (engagement surveys, employer branding, Global Staff Week, and distribution of policies).
  • Additional duties as required.

Requirements

  • 8+ years 0 s experience in strategic communications position, with 4+ years in an internal communications role and 2+ years C-suite experience in an administrative, supportive or advisory capacity
  • Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or a related field
  • Experience working in a heavily matrix organization; international team experience a plus
  • Strong writer and editor, with experience project managing translated content
  • Ability and confidence to advise senior managers and problem solve, to shape communications strategies and plans
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects with high attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of content creation tools to develop fact sheets, photo galleries, slide decks, etc., for use in internal digital and social channels
  • Comfort using digital collaboration and project management tools
  • ADA Specifications Professional workplace where business casual attire is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and global complex environment.
