About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure compliance policies from ownership, management, and regulatory agencies are implemented at the site level
- Train property managers and leasing staff on eligibility requirements, income verification, and documentation standards
- Oversee tenant file processing and approval during initial lease-up to ensure residents meet program eligibility criteria
- Monitor leasing progress to align with regulatory deadlines and tax credit requirements
- Conduct pre-occupancy and initial compliance audits
- Manage the transition process when properties are refinanced or restructured
- Ensure continued resident eligibility and proper recertification during resyndication
- Maintain accurate records for tenant eligibility, income certifications, and lease agreements
- Submit required compliance reports to various agencies on time
- Stay up to date on changes in affordable housing regulations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in reviewing files presented by property management for lease up and resyndication
- Affordable housing compliance experience or knowledge of regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of HUD, Tax Credit, and State/Local programs is a must
- Ability to set priorities and maintain annual work plan progress
- Experience with technology solutions for compliance management
- Experience with Yardi preferred
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required; Bachelor’s degree preferred or relative employment experience
- Knowledge of affordable housing is required
- Strong financial acumen
- Demonstrated ability to understand basic financial calculations
- Demonstrated experience in project management from inception to completion
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to apply reason, logic, and advanced problem-solving skills
- Ability to read at a level sufficient to understand policies and procedures
- Strong computer and keyboarding skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
