Apply security and data protection best practices across APIs, data flows, and database design
Identify, debug, and resolve production issues
Monitor performance and scalability and address bottlenecks
Collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and other team members
Integrate front-end elements with server-side logic
Document code, APIs, and database schemas
Deliver scalable, reliable, and innovative software aligned with industry best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
3–5 years of professional experience in backend development using Node.js and MongoDB
Proficiency in SQL-based databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and asynchronous programming
Understanding of promises, async/await, modules, closures, and event-driven patterns
Ability to handle concurrency, non-blocking I/O, and performance optimization in Node.js environments
Experience with Express.js and Koa
Ability to design scalable APIs, implement middleware, manage routing, structure applications, and handle validation and error management
Experience in database schema design, query optimization, execution-plan analysis, and indexing strategies
Familiarity with OAuth and JWT authentication and authorization systems
Experience with secure authentication flows, token-based authentication, role-based access control, and web security best practices
Ability to diagnose and resolve production issues by analyzing logs and metrics, identifying root causes, and deploying fixes
Experience with media streaming systems, real-time audio/video streaming concepts, streaming protocols, low-latency architectures, or high-throughput media pipelines
Experience with voice systems, including speech-to-text, text-to-speech, VoIP integrations, or real-time communication systems
Experience integrating machine learning models or LLM APIs, handling inference workflows, prompt orchestration, or building AI-powered backend services
Experience building agent-based systems, including autonomous or semi-autonomous agents, tool orchestration, workflow automation, state management, or event-driven intelligent systems
Knowledge of API and backend security best practices, data protection, encryption, and secure API design
Strong understanding of Jest, Mocha, or Chai for unit and integration testing
Proficiency in Git
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and Docker/Kubernetes is a plus
Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems is preferred
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is preferred
Exposure to Redis caching is preferred
