About the role
- Provide thought leadership within the Global Technical Systems Business Unit
- Provides Technical support for hardware and software solutions
- Possess communication skills to participate in client/team/Business unit meetings as well as providing documentation for client operational meetings
- Enhance the performance of others through mentoring and guiding
- Keep abreast of changes in the standards, technologies or methodologies
- Update weekly SW dashboards/scorecards
- Provide risk assessment and risk management
- Review assignments for accuracy and quality where applicable
- Facilitate and coordinate of software releases/upgrades or large projects
- Collaborate with other departments, teams, and clients
- Adhere to completion of personnel, departmental, and company goals
- Upgrade/maintain multiple z/VSE operating systems across diverse environments
- Upgrade/maintain additional third-party products
- z/VSE tuning for capacity and throughput
- On-call 24 x 7 rotation for z/VSE support
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 year experience
- Fluent in VSE JCL and ability to advise application teams on JCL issues
- Installation and administration knowledge of ISV and IBM z/VSE software
- Microsoft Office skills
- Knowledge of application environments including RPG, COBOL, Assembler, and REXX
- Experience with IBM Z hardware and general networking concepts
- Working knowledge of using z/VM including CP and CMS
