About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Organize and coordinate assigned staff activities to ensure safe, effective, appropriate, and fiscally responsible work
- Handle and solve problems related to the area of assignment
- Work with the Patient Access Manager to develop and coach staff
- Conduct and oversee orientation and training of Patient Access staff
- Perform revenue cycle tasks supporting compliance and customer service
- Assist the Patient Access Manager with day-to-day operations
- Coordinate registration and pre-registration duties
- Monitor daily productivity and communicate with staff
- Provide reporting on department performance metrics
- Assign and coordinate staff schedules, rotations, time off, and call-offs
- Track and monitor upfront collection processes
- Assign goals and provide coaching and corrective action
- Participate in on-call rotation, including days, nights, and weekends
- Fill in for call-offs, staffing issues, or unexpected volumes as needed
- Develop department processes and procedures
- Conduct staff training, education, development, audits, and continual coaching
- Act as a resource for staff and ancillary departments
- Manage assigned projects and process changes
- Report routinely to Patient Access Leadership
- Participate in facility activities and gather statistical information
- Assist with staff evaluations and maintain the time/attendance system
- Attend facility meetings as required to ensure process alignment and communication
Requirements
What you’ll need- Certified Healthcare Access Management (CHAM)
- Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR)
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience in healthcare or business field preferred
- Ability to lead/direct others
- High degree of analytical ability
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of registration, insurance, scheduling, and/or verification and hospital billing
- Demonstrated advanced usage of AI and management of teams using AI for process and technological improvements
