Plan, develop, organize, and manage the Patient Access department
Coach and develop staff and implement short- and long-term plans to improve customer service and quality information collection
Manage admitting, registration, and financial services operations at acute care locations
Ensure admitting staff assign accurate MRNs, complete medical necessity/compliance checks, collect insurance information, process physician orders, and provide patient instructions and customer service
Manage Financial Service Representatives; ensure cash drawer balancing, timely deposits, accurate posting to patient accounts, and completion/submission of required logs
Develop and manage departmental staffing needs and coordinate employee schedules for adequate coverage
Prepare monthly reports and establish departmental goals to optimize performance and meet financial and customer satisfaction goals
Collect, interpret, and communicate performance data to make decisions to achieve performance goals
Work with internal and external customers and ancillary departments to achieve revenue cycle goals
Assist in development of dyad-reporting patient access staff and provide training, education, goal-setting, and performance interventions
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience in Healthcare Management/Administration (preferred)
Minimum 2–3 years management experience in healthcare industry
Patient Access experience with managed care/insurance or call center preferred
Experience with Microsoft (a must)
Ability to balance numerous priorities; strong prioritization skills
Ability to understand and master numerous computer applications and work with IT
Must be able to work on-site at the hospital
