Financial Counseling Specialist
Ensemble Health PartnersFinancial Counseling Specialist performing benefit education and validation for inpatient services. Ensuring accurate verification of patient liabilities and assisting with financial education during patient stays.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Performs the task of benefit education and validation.
- Conducts face to face review of inpatient benefits, authorization and collecting inpatient, observation, and outpatient in a bed liability.
- Handles the accurate verification and calculation of patient liabilities including previous balances, collection of patient payments.
- Makes at least 3 attempts each day to visit a patient's room if the patient is otherwise preoccupied.
- Sends letters to patients' addresses post-discharge detailing an estimated liability as well as options to pay.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1+ years of customer service experience
- Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.
- High School Diploma/GED Required
- CRCR (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative) Required within 6 months of hire (Company Paid)
