About the role
- Responsible for the operational coding functions within the Health Information Management Department
- Recruitment, planning, organizing, staffing, oversight, orientation, ongoing training, evaluations, coaching, and development of all coding staff
- Meeting coding associate Revenue Cycle Goals while complying with regulatory requirements
- Assisting with the development of strategic and operational coding related goals
- Monitoring the progress of new employees, ensuring competency
Requirements
- 5-7 years of coding and leadership experience
- Extensive knowledge/experience in physician coding with expert knowledge in Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Cardiothoracic/Vascular coding specialties
- Previous management experience in Coding preferred
- Extensive knowledge of coding guidelines and payer specific requirements
- Working knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR), coding software, and Microsoft Office applications
- Satisfactory completion of Anatomy and Physiology as well as Medical Terminology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
