About the role
- Lead role & go-to person for one squad or one product/technical domain impacting multiple squads
- Work with Principal QA Engineer, Architects, Lead Engineers and Engineering Management on testing best practices, testing tools and test strategy
- Formally lead squad members, set direction, and drive continuous improvement across people, processes, and quality
- Build and maintain core automation test frameworks for the Product Engineering department
- Own and maintain QA environments and associated data reflecting UAT and Production
- Ensure accurate test coverage within perimeter, focusing on automated test coverage
- Manage and review ENSEK testing tool set and stay current with technology developments
- Contribute to central view of QA status across ENSEK Product Portfolio
- Drive continuous improvement in test environments, release strategies, production testing and monitoring within and across Tribes
- Maintain and develop QA skill set through external training and internal QA guild leadership
- Act as focal point for testing related queries and escalations for Product line
- Ownership within the release process, making risk-based decisions and providing QA sign off
- Active involvement in QA recruitment process
- Communicate clearly with senior stakeholders and clients on QA topics
- Contribute to agile team activities: attend team meetings, mentor Test Engineers, participate in refinement and reviews
- Promote ENSEK values and a positive, results oriented work environment
Requirements
- Lead role & go-to person for one squad or one product/technical domain
- Extensive hands-on test experience within Agile projects
- Strong understanding of CI/CD or DevOps practices
- Experience of advising on test scope, approach, risks and assumptions, ideally within a microservice architecture
- Experienced Test Engineer in a delivery-focused environment
- API and/or UI level test automation expertise including designing, building and maintaining automation frameworks
- Knowledge and experience of working with Open-Source tools and Cloud based services
- Strong background with programming concepts and experience in programming languages like .NET, C#, JavaScript
- Experience in non-functional testing (security and performance)
- Ability to coach others with diplomacy and tact
- Experience of working as the testing lead within an agile testing environment (essential)
- Experience within the Energy/Utilities sector (advantageous)
- Agile and Software Testing Certifications preferred
- Ability to clearly communicate with senior stakeholders and clients
- Proven ability in managing dependencies, coordinating activities and prioritizing effort
