About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct piping inspection activities in accordance with project specifications, drawings, ITPs, codes, and standards
  • Perform fit-up inspections before welding, including joint preparation, alignment, root gap, bevel condition, dimensions, and component orientation
  • Perform closure weld inspections and verify compliance with approved requirements
  • Conduct visual inspections of piping welds and associated fabrication activities
  • Review drawings, specifications, WPSs, ITPs, and project documentation
  • Verify piping components, weld identification, traceability, and installation against approved documentation
  • Document inspection findings and maintain accurate daily inspection records and reports
  • Identify and report non-conforming work and support corrective actions
  • Coordinate with welders, supervisors, construction personnel, engineers, and QC/inspection personnel
  • Complete full-day inspection activities while working on foot throughout the site
  • Follow site safety requirements, procedures, and client expectations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • CWB Level II certification is required
  • Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3
  • Strong knowledge of CSA W59
  • Previous experience with piping fit-up and closure weld inspections is preferred
  • Industrial, oil & gas, construction, or turnaround experience is an asset
  • Ability to interpret piping drawings, weld symbols, specifications, WPSs, and inspection documentation
  • Ability to work extended hours and walk significant distances throughout the workday
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Mandatory CSTS certification
  • Mandatory WHMIS certification
  • Mandatory First Aid certification
  • Mandatory Fall Protection certification
  • Mandatory H2S Alive certification
  • Mandatory Confined Space certification
