About the role
- Lead the design and implementation of new Linux solutions and service architectures (on-premise and cloud/IaaS), providing critical input into CAPEX planning and technology roadmaps.
- Define the security hardening standards and best practices for the entire platform.
- Own the risk register, manage vendor relationships, and lead research and development for new products.
- Lead and execute major platform initiatives, such as OS end-of-life migrations, security vulnerability remediation, and the integration of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles across the environment.
- Serve as the top-tier technical liaison, influencing decisions with customers and senior internal stakeholders and presenting complex technical options clearly.
- Drive the strategy for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines as they relate to Linux provisioning and configuration management.
Requirements
- 6+ years of extensive, hands-on experience architecting and managing Linux in large, highly available enterprise or service provider environments.
- Expert-level knowledge across the full Linux stack, including kernel, networking, storage integration, and advanced performance tuning.
- Proven ability to act as a technical leader, set standards, mentor senior staff, and strategically manage high-level risk.
- Demonstrated experience with cloud integration (AWS/Azure/GCP) and advanced automation/IaC frameworks.
