About the role

  • Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL and Oracle databases
  • Optimize queries, indexing, and performance tuning
  • Set up monitoring, backup, and failover strategies
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to support application requirements
  • Participate in the planning and execution of database migrations and upgrades
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with internal standards
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing across teams
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues
  • Maintain and optimize high-performance database environments supporting mission-critical applications
  • Manage and safeguard database availability and fault tolerance for systems with real-time processing requirements

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in PostgreSQL and Oracle administration
  • Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational database concepts
  • Experience with replication, clustering, and high availability setups
  • Solid understanding of backup/recovery and disaster recovery planning
  • Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and techniques
  • Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments
  • Experience in enterprise environments with large data sets
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) (Nice to Have)
  • Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, scripting) (Nice to Have)
  • Exposure to DevOps environments and CI/CD pipelines (Nice to Have)
  • Knowledge of security best practices (e.g., encryption, RBAC) (Nice to Have)
  • Experience supporting telecom or BSS systems (a plus) (Nice to Have)
