About the role

  • Lead two engineering teams (13–15 people) composed of backend engineers
  • Develop and coach engineers
  • Drive execution ensuring reliable delivery and high quality
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and other Engineering leaders
  • Influence technical direction and participate in architecture discussions
  • Champion engineering excellence by promoting observability, automation, and strong DevOps practices

Requirements

  • Experience leading and managing high performing Backend Engineers
  • Experience leading multiple teams
  • Proven track record of building and running reliable backend systems, ideally in Java (Spring Boot) on AWS (coding is not required)
  • Experience managing systems with strict SLAs, observability, and traceability
  • Excellent communication in English
  • Curiosity and a growth mindset towards the card issuing and payments domain
