About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Receive and unload incoming materials
- Help load material orders pulled for jobs
- Note backordered items and advise the Warehouse Manager
- Inspect items, report damaged goods, and arrange necessary returns
- Enter receipts into computerized inventory records
- Move items to the proper department or warehouse storage location
- Reconcile computer records with physical inventory and report discrepancies
- Package orders for out-of-town and freight-carrier shipments
- Organize materials and maintain clean, neat, safe storage and work areas
- Ensure requested items are loaded safely and timely
- Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to input data on a computer and create daily inventory reports
- Accuracy in recordkeeping, sorting, checking, counting, and verifying received items
- Ability to operate a forklift safely and professionally
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Computer proficiency
- Good finger dexterity for entering inventory records
- Knowledge of electrical parts and their functions
- Detail-oriented and able to handle ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Industry and competitor knowledge
- Excellent multitasking skills and willingness to perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
- Ability to read material-order instructions
- Ability to climb ladders and perform bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, and overhead reaching
- Ability to remain constantly active on one’s feet
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to work in varying warehouse and loading-dock weather conditions and temperatures
- Travel requirement of 0–5% to job sites or office locations
