About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee Service Project Managers and all aspects of commercial HVAC and plumbing projects
- Manage project costs, field labor, subcontractors/vendors, quality, safety, schedules, and customer expectations
- Champion project safety through safety meetings, incident investigations, and employee involvement
- Lead project planning and execution through the full project life cycle
- Conduct and document operational project meetings
- Negotiate and prepare vendor and subcontractor purchase orders and evaluate submittals
- Set up projects and job costing systems; conduct monthly reports and cost reviews
- Manage budgets, labor productivity, cash flow, billing, collections, lien waivers, state notifications, and tax documentation
- Coordinate project drawings, change orders, permitting, inspections, deliveries, materials, equipment rentals, RFIs, invoices, status reports, and monthly billings
- Build and maintain customer relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and owners
- Monitor risk management requirements, contracts, certificates of insurance, bonds, and notices to proceed
- Identify and develop field personnel, including workers, foremen, and superintendents
- Verify the quality, accuracy, delivery, and installation of fabrication and equipment
- Finalize O&M and start-up manuals; coordinate start-up and commissioning
- Complete final inspections, punch lists, as-built drawings, warranty letters, owner orientation, project closeout, and financial documentation
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4 Year Degree in Construction Management or applicable fieldwork experience in Plumbing
- Minimum 10+ year's verifiable Project Management experience working for a mechanical subcontractor in commercial HVAC and Plumbing
- Verifiable experience working on various projects at a time, including university buildings
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and willing to manage various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledgeable about the industry and the Company's competitors
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
- Willingness to travel 0–5% of the time to job sites/office locations
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to remain stationary, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Ability to perform repeated wrist, hand, and finger motions
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds
