About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee Service Project Managers and all aspects of commercial HVAC and plumbing projects
- Manage project costs, field labor, subcontractors/vendors, schedules, safety, quality, and customer expectations
- Champion project safety through safety meetings, incident investigations, and employee involvement
- Lead project execution through the full project life cycle, ensuring code and project compliance
- Conduct and document operational project meetings, including hand-off and kick-off meetings
- Negotiate and prepare vendor and subcontractor purchase orders and evaluate submittals
- Set up projects and job-costing systems with labor, material, other, and subcontract cost codes
- Conduct monthly reports and cost reviews, identify deviations, and keep project leadership informed
- Drive cash flow through schedules of values, billing, collections, and subcontractor cash management
- Coordinate lien waivers, state notifications, tax documentation, drawings, permitting, inspections, and project documentation
- Estimate change orders and submit them for approval
- Attend jobsite meetings, schedule deliveries, review labor reports, coordinate progress, and approve invoices
- Build and maintain customer relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and owners
- Monitor risk management requirements, contracts, certificates of insurance, bonds, and notices to proceed
- Identify and develop field personnel, including workers, foremen, and superintendents
- Verify fabrication and equipment quality, accuracy, delivery, installation, and compliance with plans and codes
- Finalize O&M and start-up manuals and coordinate start-up and commissioning
- Complete final inspections, punch lists, as-built drawings, warranty letters, owner orientation, project closeout, and financial files
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4-year degree in Construction Management or applicable fieldwork experience in Plumbing
- Minimum 10+ years of verifiable Project Management experience working for a mechanical subcontractor in commercial HVAC and Plumbing
- Verifiable experience working on various projects simultaneously, such as university buildings
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and willing to handle multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledgeable about the industry and the Company's competitors
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
- Travel to job sites/office locations 0–5% of the time
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to remain stationary, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Ability to perform repetitive wrist, hand, and/or finger motions
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds
