About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage Service Project Managers and provide first-line ownership and accountability for projects
  • Champion project safety, maintain safety meetings, investigate incidents, and involve employees in safety practices
  • Execute projects through the full project life cycle, coordinating planning and all trades
  • Ensure projects meet code and project requirements, quality standards, budgets, schedules, and customer expectations
  • Conduct and document operational project meetings, including hand-off and kick-off meetings
  • Negotiate and prepare vendor and subcontractor purchase orders and evaluate submittals
  • Set up projects and job-costing systems with labor, material, other, and subcontract cost codes
  • Conduct monthly reports and cost reviews and communicate deviations to project leadership
  • Drive cash flow through scheduling, billing, payment collection, and subcontractor cash management
  • Coordinate lien waivers, state notifications, tax documentation, permits, inspections, and risk-management requirements
  • Coordinate project detail drawings and verify fabrication, equipment, delivery, and installation quality
  • Estimate change orders and obtain Vice President approval before customer submission
  • Attend jobsite meetings, schedule deliveries, document site activity, coordinate progress, requisitions, RFIs, invoices, status reports, billings, and collections
  • Build and maintain customer relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and owners
  • Develop field personnel, including workers, foremen, and superintendents
  • Finalize O&M and start-up manuals and coordinate start-up and commissioning
  • Complete final inspections, punch lists, as-built drawings, warranty letters, and owner orientation
  • Collect retainage, close project financials, and archive project documentation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4 Year Degree in Construction Management or applicable fieldwork experience in Plumbing
  • Minimum 10+ years’ verifiable Project Management experience working for a mechanical subcontractor in commercial HVAC and Plumbing
  • Verifiable experience working on various projects at a time, including university buildings
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
  • Travel requirement of 0–5% to job sites or office locations
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Ability to remain stationary, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Ability to adjust and/or move objects up to 20 pounds
