Key responsibilities & impact

Directs and oversees the organization's portfolio of projects, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the customer.
Defines the organization's project management methodology and establishes processes for tracking and delivering projects.
Establishes project teams and distributes the project workload.
Serves as a liaison between project teams, external clients, or other functional areas of the organization.
Sets and manages project expectations.
Ensures projects are completed on time and within established quality standards and provides reports to clients or project sponsors.
Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.
Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Typically requires a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience, including some prior management experience.
May require project management certification to develop and mentor others.
