About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for all group Supply Chain activities across Australia and New Zealand including inventory planning, procurement, forwarding, warehousing and distribution while driving operational excellence, productivity improvement and cost optimisation.
  • Develop strong cross-functional partnerships to align business priorities and improve end-to-end supply chain performance
  • Identification, Formulation and Implementation of group cost improvement initiatives including proposal generation and financial modelling to support feasibility
  • Formulation of multi-year strategies for growth / expansion and efficiency improvement and capital investment for asset replacement or lease versus buy projects to maximise group outcomes
  • Capital Expenditure budgeting and Appropriation Request generation for all capital equipment purchases including executive summary generation and financial modelling for ROI and cash flow payback
  • Develop and maintain supply continuity and risk mitigation strategies to minimise disruption arising from supplier, logistics and market risks
  • Oversee group inventory management to ensure balance between timely availability and consumption of inventory whilst exceeding Primary Operating Capital and Inventory Turn targets
  • Develop and implement effective procurement processes and procedures to ensure that the needs of the business are managed in accordance with Enersys governance framework.
  • Manage the development and implementation of category management strategies to optimise the procurement spend
  • Periodical identification and prioritisation of procurement types and relationships where results can be improved (quality/quantity/cost)
  • Hands on procurement activities for material projects and functions not specifically delegated to specialist Managers (Finance, Legal and HR functions)
  • Conduct periodic assessments of material supplier relationships, focusing on compliance, value creation and supplier performance
  • Oversee all group International forwarding and customs clearance operations including service provider management to ensure value and timely delivery
  • Review and Approve all group vendor supply agreements and contracts as they arise within authority limits
  • Maintain and enforce behaviour and controls to ensure EnerSys continues to abide by internal auditing and authority limit guidelines and strict adherence to the EnerSys code of conduct
  • Lead, coach and develop the Supply Chain team through performance management, succession planning, capability development and achievement of company objectives
  • Develop the strategy and execute controls to manage all contractors for property related operational requirements across the portfolio i.e. cleaning, utilities, security, essential services, air conditioning, repair and maintenance, emergency response etc
  • Support or Lead the Project Management of office fit outs, relocations, Cap Ex upgrades and refurbishments (sourcing quotes/budgeting/forecasting/reporting/managing suppliers/liaising with stakeholders)
  • Risk management in relation to property portfolio, including premises-related WHS compliance and reporting on risk and compliance
  • In conjunction with the SHEQ team ensure that Site Management develop and maintain emergency response management processes and procedures at all locations including first aid requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent in either Business Management or Supply Chain Management
  • Cost Improvement and Lean Implementation experience
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management and experience in management of staff to support multiple teams across various disciplines
  • Demonstrated analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • A working knowledge of ERP/MRP enterprise software packages similar to Pronto or Infor
  • Advanced skills using computer applications – Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, Power BI and Appian
  • Strong organisational skills, communication, literacy and numeracy skills
  • Basic/Advanced skills in: Problem solving, Organisation, Communication & interpersonal skills, and Computer literacy – Microsoft Office / Windows environment
