Project Design Engineer
EnerSysProject Design Engineer responsible for designing critical power construction projects at EnerSys. Collaborating with clients and teams to ensure successful project delivery and compliance with standards.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create designs for strategic, large, technically complex projects.
- Support the construction of designs.
- Serve as subject matter expert for the resolution of technical issues.
- Continuously improve tools, templates and software used to provide proper estimations, designs, and supporting documentation.
- Clarify project scope with clients.
- Oversee discussions with professional engineering and architectural resources.
- Engage special technical resources as necessary.
- Work with equipment vendors to ensure compliance to specifications.
- Perform system reliability calculations.
- Engineer control and monitoring systems.
- Guide the sales and estimating team in the costing and pricing of offers.
- Assist the sales team with the presentation of solutions to clients.
- Support the Sales and Operations teams in managing internal and external client relationships.
- Assist the Project Managers and installation teams to meet the customer schedule and budget while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred) or a related technical field from an accredited university.
- Experience with critical power systems, including protected DC power and AC power systems.
- Basic understanding of cooling systems, control systems, AC switchgear, and generator systems.
- Experience in project management and operations environments.
- Understanding of financial statements, budgets, and engineering economic calculations.
- Ability to create, document, and present design concepts to customers and operations teams.
- Experience working with professional engineers and architects.
- Familiarity with construction techniques and the ability to apply them to design solutions.
- Experience using SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Experience with technical drawing software, including AutoCAD and Visio.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and make critical day-to-day decisions.
- Valid driver's license. Must successfully obtain and maintain a criminal record check and driver's abstract at required intervals throughout employment.
