About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for supporting production requirements
- Identifying and driving process improvements
- Fully supporting projects from concept through to completion
- Ensuring that Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules are implemented
- Ensure the Health & Safety of all employees within area of responsibility
- Assist in daily/weekly H&S audits as required
- Good understanding of lock out tag out systems
- Ensure the highest levels of housekeeping within the department are maintained
- Carry out risk assessments for departmental tasks
- Contribute to the writing of safe operating procedures for operations within the Department
- Liaise with fellow employees
- Monitor scrap and yield trends and implement corrective actions
- Ensure all processes and procedures are always adhered to
- Ensure all Environmental controls and procedures are carried out
- Ensure Contractors on site are operating to the Company’s Site Rules
- Issuing work permits to contractors and tradesman under your control
- Work closely with Maintenance dept
Requirements
What you’ll need- Engineering Degree level or equivalent
- Previous recent experience of delivering measurable results in a busy manufacturing environment
- Experience of working with Cross-functional Teams to achieve objectives
- Previous experience of carrying out risk assessments in the workplace and driving resulting actions would be an advantage
- Good communication skills
- Flexible and adaptable to meet demanding business needs
- Target and objective driven
- Ideally trained in both an Engineering discipline and the use of Six Sigma tools and methodology
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Minitab data analysis preferred
- Minimum of 3 yrs. recent experience
