About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for design, development, evaluation, analysis, selecting and ordering equipment for manufacturing
- Oversees and manages installation, modification, upgrade and maintenance of manufacturing equipment/processes/systems
- Keeps current on equipment manufacturers’ technical notices, upgrades and safety issues
- Studies equipment performance and reliability
- Provides expert technical support to operations and other disciplines within engineering organization
- Identifies, develops, recommends, and manages processes needed to produce specific products and components
- Manages approved engineering projects
- Supports specific production areas regarding throughput, scrap, quality, ergonomics, staffing and flexibility
- Develops, implements and manages manufacturing process improvements
- Provides advanced technical support to maintenance and operations
- Manages TPPL – Common processes with Newport and Arras
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS degree or equivalent experience in engineering
- 7 - 10+ years engineering experience working in a manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of direct project management experience
- Supervisory experience desired for future growth potential
- College level written and verbal English skills
- College level Geometry, Algebra, and Trigonometry
- Advanced Root cause and abstract problem solving, visualization and quality tools
- Microsoft Office and project management software proficiency
- Lean, Six Sigma or project management certificates are desirable
- Strong planning, analytical, assertive, and personal interaction skills
- Extensive understanding of manufacturing processes, procedures/operations and product design
