About the role

  • Ensure employee training is documented and effective for the machines they operate.
  • Direct employees in the performance of work duties, communicate work requirements and make staffing decisions in placement of employees to meet production needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations as outlined by local, state, federal and corporate policies.
  • Lead EOS initiatives and ensure gains are sustained.
  • Audit, monitor, and correct. Instruct, counsel, and identify work requirements for employees and assure company goals and objections are met on a timely basis.
  • Educate employees on proper 5S practices and monitor their effort.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects, and other duties as assigned.
  • Handle employee directions and disciplinary issues in a professional manner.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of college education
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in a production environment, preferably in a metal fabrication environment
  • Experience in welding, cutting, and fitting of metal a plus
  • Capability of interpreting shop drawings and using measuring instruments
  • Knowledge of quality practices and random inspection audits of workflow
