About the role
- Develop and oversee construction project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
- Coordinate project resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Manage and coordinate on-site construction teams, including subcontractors and skilled trades.
- Ensure all project personnel understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Conduct regular site meetings to ensure alignment and communication across all team members.
- Monitor project expenses and oversee budget allocations.
- Control project costs to avoid overruns and address any discrepancies or changes.
- Approve purchase orders and ensure efficient use of materials and resources.
- Ensure projects meet quality standards and comply with local codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and resolve any issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of project progress, changes, and inspections.
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Address and resolve any unexpected issues or delays to keep the project on schedule.
- Serve as the primary and secondary point of contact for clients, updating them on project status.
- Facilitate clear communication between all parties, including architects, engineers, suppliers, and regulators.
- Provide regular progress reports and ensure all stakeholders are informed of any changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in construction management or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project)
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Certification in construction management (e.g., PMP, CCM) is a plus
