About the role

  • Responsible for battery design and engineering analyses on molten salt batteries.
  • Analyses include conceptual and detailed design, trade studies, estimates, and calculations for energy storage and power conversion.
  • Activities include battery design, prototype fabrication, technical data packages, product manufacturing instructions, test, and evaluation.
  • The selected engineer will work with other members of the engineering department to create design solutions that meet customer requirements and company objectives.
  • The selected engineer will also work with the Quality and Manufacturing functions to ensure products are delivered to the highest possible standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in either Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering required.
  • Working knowledge of Solid Works and AutoCad
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and data analytics software is required.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, work ethic, and initiative are required.
  • Working knowledge of ANSYS or other Finite Element Analysis tools is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of APQP is a plus.
  • College level written and verbal English.
  • Working knowledge of engineering mathematics is required.
  • Objective and logical with strong root-cause problem solving ability.
  • Microsoft Office, data analytics, and CAD (Solid Works) skills required.
  • Modeling and simulation is a plus.
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is a plus.
  • Planning, analytical, assertive, and ability to interact with other groups.
