About the role
- Write, edit, and publish technical reports including engineering studies, trade studies, test plans, and test reports
- Develop documentation to satisfy contractual data requirements (CDRLs/SDRLs), ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory specifications
- Support reliability analysis reports and risk assessments for product design and qualification
- Work closely with design engineers, production engineers, program managers, quality engineers, production teams, and test teams to integrate information and produce technical reports
- Participate in design reviews, providing clear and accurate graphical and written materials for internal and customer-facing presentations
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and test engineering teams to generate reports that support new product introduction and CDRLs/SDRLs
- Ensure all data submissions adhere to all customer requirements and AS9100/ISO 9001 quality management systems
- Maintain configuration management discipline and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in documentation and drafting practices
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent technical experience)
- 3+ years of experience in technical drafting within aerospace, defense, or other regulated engineering environments
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent) and document management systems (PLM/PDM tools)
- Demonstrated ability to author formal engineering reports, trade studies, and technical documentation
- Knowledge of AS9100 requirements and familiarity with contractual data deliverables (CDRLs/SDRLs)
- Understanding of reliability analysis and aerospace/defense product lifecycle considerations is preferred
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
