Report to the EV Solution Senior Director of Technical Services.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance services on Energy Vault hydrogen and battery energy storage systems.
Perform required preventative maintenance and repair activities to maintain warranty coverage and long-term servicing agreements.
Support operation of the Calistoga Resiliency Center system in response to PG&E PSPS events and CAISO market operations.
Respond to corrective maintenance cases and update online case logs accurately.
Perform commissioning activities on new projects.
Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) best practices and proactively enforce compliance among team members.
Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality Health & Safety, and Software teams to resolve issues and close service tickets.
Comply with site working policies and practices and maintain records of site activities per department policies.
Develop working relationships with EV Engineering personnel and the India Operations Center.
Utilize EV ticketing system to document new issues, provide updates on open tickets and close resolved tickets.
Respond to customer concerns with system performance or functionality and write reports to comply with O&M contract deliverables.
Provide flexible support outside home location as required and ensure company property is well maintained and secure.
Requirements
8+ years of experience in applicable experience in Energy generation project systems.
Experience troubleshooting and maintaining utility power generation equipment and medium/high voltage protection and control equipment (both AC/DC).
Experience with servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting utility scale BESS projects preferred; experience with large scale PV/solar, wind and power generation systems acceptable.
Knowledge of hydrogen-to-energy systems or other liquid fuel systems is preferable.
Experience troubleshooting and maintaining communications and network equipment.
Competency with power/hand tools, electrical test equipment, HMI control systems and various computer application tools.
Very good at interacting with and leading a team as well as managing relationships with external stakeholders and customers.
Ability to work at heights, work in extreme environments, perform prolonged periods of repetitious duties, lift at least 50 pounds frequently.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable and safe driving record.
Previous OSHA safety and heavy equipment training.
Certifications and/or previous training in renewable energy products like SMA/EPC power inverters.
Journeyman Electrician license is desirable.
Understanding of various network communication systems is preferred.
Willingness to travel domestically, 20% to 40%.
Candidate is required to pass a background check and participate in periodic drug and alcohol testing as required by company policy.
