About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage all aspects of the residential home assessment program, including planning, market research, contractor engagement, procurement, performance management, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead program delivery strategy planning and development aligned with Energy Trust objectives and utility partner goals.
  • Coordinate program design, marketing, implementation, and customer engagement with utility partners.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with home assessment providers, contractors, trade allies, community organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor assessment quality, customer experience, referrals, participation, energy savings, budgets, and contractor performance.
  • Embed equity and community engagement principles into program design, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Lead competitive procurement and contracting activities, including RFPs, scopes of work, bid evaluation, negotiations, and contractor selection.
  • Manage contracts, budgets, deliverables, and external contractor performance.
  • Coordinate operations, innovation, evaluation, reporting, and regulatory compliance with internal teams.
  • Prepare and present reports and recommendations to leadership, advisory groups, utility partners, and stakeholders.
  • Support program evaluations, strategic planning, and organizational initiatives.
  • Represent Energy Trust at industry meetings, conferences, public events, and stakeholder forums.
  • Directly manage the work and performance of external contractors and service providers.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, economics, business, finance, architecture, environmental science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Five or more years of experience managing energy efficiency programs, contractor networks, trade ally programs, or related initiatives.
  • Experience managing residential energy efficiency, home energy assessment, or comparable customer-facing programs.
  • Experience developing participation agreements, quality assurance plans, risk assessments, and performance management processes.
  • Experience with home energy assessment providers, assessment methodologies, quality assurance, customer reporting, contractor referrals, and homeowner engagement.
  • Experience managing program and project budgets from $1 million to $5 million or greater.
  • Experience leading competitive procurement, including RFP development, response evaluation, contractor selection, and contract negotiations.
  • Experience managing contractors through the full contract lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical, financial, writing, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience using performance metrics and data analysis to evaluate participation, assessment quality, contractor performance, and energy savings.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and SharePoint.
  • Understanding of the utility regulatory environment and policy context affecting Energy Trust’s work.
  • Successful completion of background and reference checks is required as a condition of employment.
