About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Troubleshoot, install, repair, and maintain HVAC controls and building systems
  • Provide technical support to HVAC field technicians, field techs, operators, and building occupants
  • Operate and maintain building control systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, relay logic, control/safety circuits, and electronic boards
  • Adjust controls for safe and efficient system operation
  • Install, program, and start up new building automation equipment as needed
  • Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and construction blueprints
  • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, replacements, and control-system adjustments
  • Maintain control systems including servers, operator stations, and mobile visualization software
  • Install, repair, maintain, and adjust indicating, recording, telemetering, and controlling instruments
  • Install and configure software and provide technical, operational, and training support for onsite computer users
  • Troubleshoot computer problems and coordinate repairs with the IT Department
  • Maintain master building automation display screens, programming, and building layouts; update control points as needed
  • Communicate job progress and assigned-work issues to supervisors and management
  • Conduct Job Safety Analysis as required and ensure proper use and condition of personal protective equipment
  • Adjust and repair final control mechanisms and calibrate instruments to established standards
  • Replace defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring
  • Install, test, repair, and troubleshoot standalone PCs, networked PCs, printers, and other computer peripherals
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary by management
  • Work safely and comply with all OSHA regulations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum: 3-6 years in building automation and instrumentation field
  • Experience with mechanical/HVAC systems
  • High school degree
  • Vocational/technical training school
  • Experience working with Bacnet communication protocol
  • High level of knowledge of network architecture
  • Preferred: 5 years of related experience in the Energy Services, Performance Contracting, and/or HVAC Industry
  • 2 years of experience with Delta controls
  • Knowledge of GCL programming language
  • OSHA 30 Training
  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • Ability to work after hours for service/emergency calls
  • Must work safely and comply with all OSHA regulations
  • Working knowledge of construction and service of HVAC operations
  • Working knowledge of computer maintenance and repair
