About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide day to day management of the Worker’s Compensation claims team and related systems and processes
Develop, implement and drive effective oversight practices ensuring best in class handling of Workers’ Comp claims for Sompo insureds
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of matters to Underwriting and Senior Management
Work closely with Actuary, Cede Re, Underwriting, Operations, Finance to ensure timely reporting on trends, reserves, various claim metrics, etc.
Communicate with and support underwriting and other functional groups within the organization
Other duties as required by management
Some travel as required

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of 15 years’ experience required in Workers Comp claims handling with a career history of increasing responsibility
Management experience within a carrier for a substantial Workers’ Compensation book of business required
Strong technical acumen and understanding of Workers’ Compensation claims and related processes
Demonstrated ability to establish close working relationships with internal and external partners, including underwriting, actuarial, brokers and TPAs
Strong analytical, written, and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal and people management, marketing, and communication skills
