About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide day to day management of the Worker’s Compensation claims team and related systems and processes
  • Develop, implement and drive effective oversight practices ensuring best in class handling of Workers’ Comp claims for Sompo insureds
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of matters to Underwriting and Senior Management
  • Work closely with Actuary, Cede Re, Underwriting, Operations, Finance to ensure timely reporting on trends, reserves, various claim metrics, etc.
  • Communicate with and support underwriting and other functional groups within the organization
  • Other duties as required by management
  • Some travel as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience required in Workers Comp claims handling with a career history of increasing responsibility
  • Management experience within a carrier for a substantial Workers’ Compensation book of business required
  • Strong technical acumen and understanding of Workers’ Compensation claims and related processes
  • Demonstrated ability to establish close working relationships with internal and external partners, including underwriting, actuarial, brokers and TPAs
  • Strong analytical, written, and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and people management, marketing, and communication skills
