About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and continuously refine a country-level sales playbook for the Kenyan market
  • Translate product, pricing, and marketing inputs into practical, field-ready selling guidance and supporting tools
  • Pilot new sales approaches, measure results, and iterate before scaling
  • Own the outcome of partner sales-force training end to end and measure its effect on field behavior and results
  • Onboard partner teams and define measurable standards for trained, effective selling
  • Run ongoing training cycles through testing, field observation, refinement, and redeployment
  • Serve as senior relationship owner and ultimate point of accountability for Kenyan partners
  • Align partner incentives, motivations, and selling behavior through influence and credibility
  • Identify partner capability gaps and co-design training, incentive, or tooling solutions
  • Own the end-customer experience from first contact through purchase and post-sale follow-up
  • Install quality checkpoints across individual, group, and institutional sales and buying experiences
  • Gather structured customer feedback and provide product, pricing, and messaging insights to HQ
  • Define and own the performance dashboard with individual-agent and manager-level visibility
  • Set, track, and report partner KPIs, diagnose underperformance, and implement collaborative recovery plans
  • Lead and set the playbook for a small in-country team, initially including one GTM Manager
  • Maintain constant field presence while collaborating with HQ and distributed colleagues across time zones

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Significant sales experience, typically eight or more years
  • Experience selling through partners or indirect teams
  • Track record of building sales capability in partner or indirect sales teams
  • Experience designing and running training and owning its effect on field behavior and results
  • Ability to influence without authority and align non-reporting stakeholders
  • Comfort with ambiguity and building a role with a lean team
  • High personal integrity and ability to operate autonomously
  • Proven use of structured consultative sales methods, such as DQ or SPIN
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Swahili
  • Comfortable operating onsite and within a distributed, multinational team across time zones
  • Knowledge of or relationships in the Kenyan or broader East African market is desirable
  • Ability to engage credibly in technical product conversations about devices and operating systems is desirable
  • Familiarity with consumer technology products, especially education or family devices, is desirable
  • Exposure to new or disruptive operating systems or platforms is desirable
  • Understanding of last-mile field merchandising in Kenyan consumer markets is desirable
  • Experience building and leading a team is desirable
