About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • As an Electrical Engineer for Grid Connection and Protection (m/f/d) you are responsible for the entire grid connection work package — from technical feasibility to commissioning.
  • You manage grid operator processes, coordinate tests and prepare technical verification documentation.
  • Prepare grid connection applications and submit technical data packages.
  • Manage and respond to technical queries from grid operators.
  • Plan and take responsibility for compliance verification according to VDE-AR-N 4105 and VDE-AR-N 4110.
  • Define single-line diagrams, protection schemes, CT specifications and remote telemetry/telecontrol systems.
  • Coordinate external partners for protection tests such as FAT and SAT.
  • Maintain schedules for grid milestones and manage dependencies and risks.
  • Consolidate approvals, test reports and certificates up to commissioning.
  • Further develop standards, templates and grid connection processes.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in electrical engineering or comparable qualification (e.g., Meister or certified technician)
  • Several years of experience with grid connection of power plants, ideally battery storage or renewable energy systems
  • Solid knowledge of protection engineering, relevant standards and grid operator processes
  • Confident in reading and creating single-line diagrams and technical specifications
  • Experience with certification and testing processes, including FAT and SAT
  • Clear and professional communication with grid operators and authorities; German at least C1 level
