About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage construction project budgets, schedules, and risks for safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery within approved scope
- Review project plans and provide construction expertise on constructability, cost, sequencing, scheduling, and project execution
- Develop and support construction cost and schedule estimates for pipeline and facility projects
- Support Engineering and Supply Chain activities, including contract specifications, bid evaluations, procurement documentation, and contractor coordination
- Coordinate field construction activities, contractors, operating groups, permits, and commissioning requirements
- Track project progress, costs, contracts, submittals, and change orders
- Conduct site inspections, quality and safety reviews, and compliance checks
- Identify improvement opportunities and provide mentorship or technical support to team members
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, site personnel, and operating groups during service outages
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree or related construction or operational training combined
- 4+ years of previous related experience in construction project management, construction coordination, construction cost estimating, or similar project work
- Candidates without a university degree require an additional 3 years of experience, for a total of 7+ years
- Ability to independently manage multiple construction projects
- Ability to apply project management standards and assess technical and business impacts
- Strong knowledge of construction principles, drawings, schedules, budgets, contracts, submittals, change orders, service outage coordination, and quality, safety, and environmental requirements
- Planning, organizational, communication, presentation, customer service, and teamwork skills
- Ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera
- Valid driver's license and responsible driving record required
- Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting objects up to 20 pounds, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, and visual and hearing requirements
- Ability to work in office and field environments and comply with safety, environmental, quality, and schedule requirements
- Final candidates may be required to undergo security screening, including a criminal records check
- Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree and PMP certification are considered assets
