About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform monthly project accounting activities, including cost sign-off administration, accruals, reclassification entries, and account reconciliations
  • Review, process, and approve Authorization for Expenditure submissions
  • Set up and baseline new AFEs and revisions with appropriate Delegation of Authority approvals and funding support
  • Monitor AFEs, In-Service Dates, capital classifications, and project closures for timely capitalization and unitization
  • Apply capitalization, Distributable Cash Flow capital classification, intangibles, and CIAC requirements to project accounting
  • Provide guidance, training, and support on project accounting processes, policies, Oracle Project Management, and DOA requirements
  • Support regulatory, tax, and corporate reporting, including CWIP reporting, AFUDC support, and project accounting analyses
  • Collaborate with project teams, business partners, and auditors to resolve issues, support audits, and improve processes
  • Apply US GAAP to capital-project accounting and financial reporting
  • Respond to external and internal audit inquiries with supporting documentation and explanations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Related university degree and/or CPA professional designation in Accounting, Business, Commerce, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in project accounting, capital accounting, or a related finance function
  • Experience with AFEs, accruals, capital asset capitalization, reclassifications, and account reconciliations
  • Strong digital literacy and proficiency with Oracle ERP systems, specifically Project Accounting/Oracle Project Management (OPM)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including querying tools, pivot tables, and data analysis features
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex accounting and process issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including explaining complex accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and within a team
  • Primarily office-based work with extensive computer and desk work
  • Ability to travel approximately 5% to other Enbridge locations or meetings
  • Availability for periodic additional support during month-end, quarter-end, year-end, audits, and regulatory reporting cycles
  • Final candidates may be required to undergo security screening, including a criminal records check
